Domaine de la Pousse d'Or - one of the Parker reference points for great burgundy
The Pousse d'or domaine at Volany was established in 1954, and it can be traced back to the year of 1100. In 19th century, the Duvault-Blochet family acquired a two-hectare monopoly in Volany and was called "En Bousse d'Or (Golden Earth)". The family was known as the owner of Domaine Romanee Conti and Clos de Tart during that period. In 1964, the estate was formed by Jean-Nicolas Ferte & Gerard Potel, and soon received attention from Robert Parker. He mentioned Pousse d'Or as "some of the purest and most elegant Volnays he had tasted" in his Parker's Wine Buyer's Guide.
In 1997, the renowned Gerard Potel passed away and Patrick Landanger take over the whole estate. Since purchasing Bonnes-Mares and Chambolle Les Amoureuses, Domaine de la Pousse d'Or has now increased to 17ha and continues on producing distinctive and stylish wines from Volnay, Pommard and Santenay.
Domaine de La Pousse d'Or,
Chambolle-Musigny "les Feusselottes" 2012 (AG92-94)
"The 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Les Feusselottes shows a much more aromatic, lifted side of Chambolle than the Groseilles, which precedes it in this tasting. Sweet floral notes meld into bright red berries in a classy, understated Chambolle that should drink nicely pretty much right out of the gate. Finely cut, chalky tannins give the wine much of its drive and focus." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com
